SugarWalk locks the apps you choose until you finish a short, sensor-verified walk after a meal — timed to research on post-meal blood sugar response.

SugarWalk uses your phone's motion sensors to detect walking, which can occasionally lag behind in the background — this is a known iOS platform limitation, not specific to SugarWalk. Opening the app manually usually triggers an immediate check. If the sensor genuinely missed a real walk, you can spend one of your weekly passes to manually confirm it.
Apps automatically unlock after 2 hours regardless of whether a walk happened — SugarWalk never locks you out indefinitely. That meal's walk is honestly marked as missed in your history, with no shaming message.
You get 4 passes per week, usable for: manually confirming a walk the sensor missed, getting immediate access to a locked app for something urgent, or skipping a meal's lock entirely (beyond the one free daily "skip today" option).
Use the Pause toggle in Settings. It suspends the entire lock system for a set number of days and resumes automatically — it doesn't cost you any passes, it's meant for exactly this situation.
No. Apple's Screen Time system only gives SugarWalk an anonymous token for each app you select — the app never learns the actual app identity.
